BIOGRAPHY
Michele Martinelli was born in Massa (Italy) on 12nd September 1974. From 1988 to 1993 he attended the hotel-management school in Marina di Massa. After graduating he went to Germany, France and United Kingdom where he worked in five-star restaurants. In Paris he worked as a commis chef at the Hotel Royal Monceau, with the Chef Angelo Paracucchi. In 1999 he started working at Schlosshotel Buhlerhohe in Baden Baden where he met the Arab Prince Sultan Bin Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, King Fahad’s nephew. Before leaving the hotel the Prince asked Michele to become his personal chef while he was travelling around Europe. He left the Prince after one year because he had the opportunity to work for Abdullah II of Jordan. In 2000, after 3 months as Italian Chef, he became the Jordanian Court Executive Chef. In the following two years he cooked for Queen Elizabeth II, Charles, Prince of Wales, Qatar King, Yasser Arafat, George Bush Jr, Sheik Zaied and others important people. After the Jordanian experience, Michele moved to Luxemburg as the Royal Family’s Head Chef. From 2003 he worked as freelance private chef for several important people around the world. In December 2009 he cooperated with the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo (Italy). On July 2010 he definitely came back to Italy where he opened his restaurant “Locanda Martinelli”.(15/20 Espresso Restaurant guide, 78/100 Gambero Rosso Restaurant guide, Sole 24 ore Restaurant guide, La Repubblica Restaurant guide). Starting from 2012 is a Tenure Track Professor at the MTA Master organized by the University of Pisa. From May 2013 is a member of the Euro Toques Italy Council.
